It is known that the nature of betting exchanges can give a good indication of public opinion. One of the biggest betting events in the UK is the General Elections, and Betfair wanted to offer professional journalist access to both historical and live market data in order for analysis and reporting news depicting current public opinion. Betfair commissioned BetXTech to develop the Betfair Barometer, and we used the Betfair API and a 3rd party graphical presentation tool to develop the web solution which included user name and password authentication for access.
